Exhibition of Poetry by NAP Member

Clive Brookes aged 75 of Mansfield, a NAP member, has an exhibition of poetry at Hucknall Library until Monday 21 August.

His interest in poetry started when he was in his thirties and the poet Byron was one of his favourite writers.

His poems cover many subject areas from love to war, including St George, the Diamond Jubilee, philosophy, boxing, and the North Sea oil fields, where Clived worked about 50 years ago.

He has had four volumes of poetry published.

The poems in the exhibition have been illustrated by Andrew Stewart Jamieson, a former Queen’s Scribe and Illuminator, and are written on parchment.

His latest work is a response to the terror attck at the Ariane Grande concert in Manchester in May.
